How to use the Crop Image

Upload an image, set crop width and height in pixels, and enter the starting X and Y position. X measures from the left edge and Y from the top. Select Process Image to preview the selected rectangle, then download it.

What this tool is useful for

  • Remove unwanted edges from a photo.
  • Create a square crop for an upload.
  • Select a specific region without changing its pixel scale.

Practical example

For a 600 × 400 image, a centered 400 × 400 square uses crop width 400, crop height 400, start X 100 and start Y 0. The rectangle stays inside the original and removes 100 pixels from each side.

Helpful tips

  • Starting coordinates must be zero or greater.
  • Start X plus width must not exceed the original width; the same rule applies to Y and height.
  • Cropping removes pixels outside the rectangle; it does not stretch the selected area.
  • Use PNG or WebP when cropped artwork needs transparency.
